How to hunt Plains Game in Africa

Plains game species can be hunted with a rifle or a bow. Shots can often be within 100 yards when hunting in the thick shrubs while hunting the open grass and semi-desert plains may demand a shot distance out to 300 yards.

Hunting Plains Game with a Rifle

Plains game hunting with a rifle is typically done by a walk and stalk or spot and stalk method. The PH will take the hunter as close to a herd as possible, where the hunt will commence on foot.

Hunting Plains Game with a Bow

Hunting plains game with a bow is typically done by a lie and ambush method from hunting blinds, which are strategically positioned close to water holes and food sources. Otjandaue Hunting Safaris also offers walk and stalk bow hunting for the more advanced bow hunter.
